Chain guide cable – reliability in harsh conditions
This shielded chain cable HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 109-C is a solution designed for operation in demanding industrial environments, especially in applications with chain guides. The cable is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to external factors, which translates into a long service life and minimizes the risk of failure. Designed for applications requiring high reliability, such as industrial automation, robotics or construction machinery.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction. The copper core, made in class 6 (multi-wire extra flexible), ensures good conductivity and resistance to material fatigue during repeated bending. The braid screen protects against electromagnetic interference, which is crucial in environments with high noise levels. The outer jacket made of polyurethane (PUR) provides resistance to abrasion, oils and UV radiation. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire and minimizes the emission of toxic gases.
It is worth noting the wide range of operating temperatures – from -40°C to +80°C (flexibly) and compliance with safety standards, such as DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 and DIN EN 60332-1-2. Radiation resistance up to 100x106 cJ/kg (100 Mrad) makes it suitable for use in specific industrial conditions. The cable is metered, making it easy to precisely adjust the length to the needs of the installation.
Applications and benefits
This cable is primarily used in:
- Machines and equipment with chain guides: ideal for powering moving elements in robots, conveyors or CNC portals.
- Marine industry: thanks to its special construction, it meets the requirements of the strict standards prevailing in the marine environment.
- Applications exposed to oils and lubricants: the polyurethane outer coating provides chemical resistance.
- Environments with increased fire risk: halogen-free construction increases safety.
- Applications requiring protection against interference: the screen effectively suppresses electromagnetic noise.
Thanks to this, the cable guarantees not only reliable operation of the installation, but also safety of use and long-term operation even in the most difficult industrial conditions. The conductor cross-section of 10 mm² (AWG 8) allows for the transmission of relatively large currents, and the orange color makes it easier to identify the cable in the installation.
