Cable for chain guides – reliability in harsh conditions

This specialized HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 121 cable is designed for use in demanding environments, particularly in marine and industrial areas. The cable is characterized by its high resistance to external factors, flexibility and durability, making it an ideal solution for installations exposed to high mechanical and chemical loads. The shielded construction ensures electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and minimizes interference.

Construction and properties

The SHIPFLEX 121 cable features an advanced construction, ensuring long-lasting and trouble-free operation. It uses high-quality copper strands twisted into strands, guaranteeing high flexibility even with frequent bending – crucial in applications with chain guides. The power cores are black with identification printing, and the protective core is yellow-green. Additionally, the cable has shielded control wire pairs to ensure a stable signal. The whole is surrounded by a durable polyurethane (PUR) coating, resistant to abrasion, oils and UV radiation. It is worth emphasizing the halogen-free materials used in production – this increases safety in the event of a fire.

  • Durable construction: Class 6 copper strands provide high flexibility and resistance to material fatigue.
  • Shielding: a braid of tinned copper wires minimizes electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable signal transmission.
  • Chemical resistance: the PUR coating is resistant to oils, greases and many other chemicals.
  • Halogen-free: materials do not contain halogen, which increases fire safety.
  • Wide temperature range: the cable retains its properties in the range of -40°C to +80°C (flexible) and -40°C to +80°C (stationary).
  • Compliance with standards: meets the requirements of DIN VDE, IEC and UL Style 20234 standards.

Applications and benefits

The SHIPFLEX 121 cable finds application in a wide range of industrial and marine applications where high reliability and resistance to harsh working conditions are required. It is ideal for:

  • Port machines and equipment: high resistance to weather conditions and salt water.
  • Industrial automation systems: ensuring stable transmission of control signals in an environment with a high level of electromagnetic interference.
  • Robotics: the cable's flexibility allows for repeated bending without damaging the insulation.
  • Renewable energy: offshore installations (wind farms) require cables resistant to extreme weather conditions.
  • Shipbuilding industry: high resistance to oils and other chemicals found in the shipbuilding environment.

By using this cable, you can count on:

  • Increased installation reliability.
  • Reduced costs associated with downtime.
  • Improved work safety.
  • Long-term operation.
