Frequency inverter cable – reliability and protection
This double-shielded 1kV flexible cable, designated 2YSLCYK-J TF-EMV-UV, is designed for demanding applications, especially in conjunction with frequency inverters. Its construction and materials guarantee not only safe power transmission but also minimize electromagnetic interference, which is crucial in modern industrial installations. The cable's outer diameter is 21 mm, making it easy to route and install.
Construction and properties
This cable stands out with its advanced construction, which ensures its durability and reliability. It consists of stranded copper conductors (class 5 – flexible multi-wire), insulated with polyethylene (PE). These conductors are twisted concentrically in a 3+3 configuration, which improves electromagnetic compatibility compared to traditional 4-core cables. Additionally, the cable has double shielding: an inner aluminum foil and an outer copper braid, providing optimal protection against interference. The whole is surrounded by a durable outer PVC coating (black RAL 9005 color). It is worth noting the PE protective conductor divided into three parts, which ensures even distribution of grounding.
The cable is characterized by a wide range of operating temperatures: from -40°C to +80°C in stationary mode and from -5°C to +80°C during installation. It is also UV resistant, allowing it to be used in outdoor installations. The minimum bending radius for the cable is 5x the diameter for stationary installations and 10x the diameter for flexible installations (depending on the outer diameter of the cable).
Applications and benefits
This cable finds wide application in the automotive, packaging, machinery industries, and in automation systems. It is suitable for powering pumps, conveyor belts, ventilation and air conditioning. It can also be used in potentially explosive atmospheres. Thanks to its low mutual capacitance and compliance with EMC standards (EN 55011 and DIN VDE 0875 part 11), the cable minimizes the risk of interference with the operation of frequency inverters. The materials used in production are cadmium and silicone-free and do not contain substances that interfere with painting. Furthermore, it meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking) and has a certificate confirming fire resistance (IEC 60332-1-2).
