This halogen-free, flexible MEGAFLEX 500 cable is a robust solution for installations requiring high mechanical and chemical resistance. The cable is designed for applications in machine and equipment construction, air conditioning systems, ship structures, and renewable energy sources. Its construction ensures safety and reliability in harsh working conditions.

Construction and properties

The cable features a stranded, twisted copper core according to DIN VDE 0295 class 5, BS 6360 class 5, and IEC 60228 class 5. The core insulation is made of a special halogen-free polymer, which increases safety in the event of a fire – minimizing the release of toxic gases and smoke. Black cores are marked with white numbers according to DIN VDE 0293, and the 3-core version includes a yellow-green protective conductor. Twisted cores in parallel provide flexibility and facilitate installation. The outer jacket made of a halogen-free polymer further protects the cable from mechanical damage and weathering.

This cable is distinguished by its high flame resistance, as well as resistance to oils, greases, UV radiation, and weathering. It is also resistant to hydrolysis and ozone, guaranteeing long-term operation even in demanding environments. The materials used in production are silicone-free, cadmium-free, and do not contain substances that interfere with painting. This makes the cable environmentally friendly and safe to use.

User parameters and compliance with standards

The MEGAFLEX 500 cable has a rated voltage of 500 V and an allowable ambient temperature during operation from -40°C to +80°C (stationary) and from -30°C to +80°C (during installation). Its outer diameter is approximately 6.3 mm with a core cross-section of 1.5 mm². The cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11 / DIN EN 50525-3-11 and UL-Style 20939, UL-Std. 758, confirming its high quality and safety. The cable has a CE certificate – it complies with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU. The minimum bending radius is 4x the cable diameter for fixed laying and 10x the diameter during flexible operation.
