Flexible cable for applications requiring high resistance
This grey, halogen-free MEGAFLEX 500 4x0.5 cable is a versatile solution for electrical installations where flexibility, safety and durability are important. The cable is designed for a wide range of applications – from the construction of machines and equipment, through air conditioning systems, to ship structures and renewable energy sources.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction based on stranded copper conductors, which ensures high flexibility and resistance to material fatigue. The core insulation is made of a halogen-free polymer, which minimizes the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire – important for the safety of people and equipment. The cores are twisted in parallel and marked with numbers (with a yellow-green protective core in a 3-core configuration), which facilitates identification during installation. The whole is surrounded by a durable outer jacket made of halogen-free polymer in grey color (RAL 7001).
The cable meets strict European standards (DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11 / DIN EN 50525-3-11) and American standards (UL-Style 20939, UL-Std. 758), which guarantees its high quality and reliability. Additionally, it is resistant to oils, greases, UV radiation and weathering. This makes it perfect for use in harsh working conditions.
Operating parameters and safety
The MEGAFLEX 500 cable is designed to operate at a rated voltage of 500V (U0/U 300/500V) and a test voltage of 3000V. It can be used in a temperature range of -40°C to +80°C in stationary mode and from -30°C to +80°C during installation. The minimum bending radius is 10x cable diameter for flexible applications and 4x cable diameter for fixed laying. The cable has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
The use of halogen-free materials is not only a matter of fire safety, but also care for the natural environment. The cable is also resistant to hydrolysis and ozone, which translates into its long life and reliability in various operating conditions.
