Flexible halogen-free cable for wide applications
This grey, halogen-free MEGAFLEX 500 50G1 flexible cable is a versatile solution for electrical installations where high flexibility and safety are required. The cable is designed for both stationary and mobile applications – provided there are no forced movements and tensile stresses. It is ideal for use in machine and device construction, air conditioning systems, ship structures and installations using renewable energy sources.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction based on stranded copper conductors, which ensures its flexibility and resistance to repeated bending. The conductor insulation is made of a halogen-free polymer, which significantly increases safety in the event of a fire – it limits the release of toxic gases and smoke. The conductors are twisted in parallel and marked with numbers for easy identification. Additionally, the cable has a yellow-green protective conductor (from 3 conductors), providing additional safety. The outer jacket is also made of a halogen-free polymer, which increases resistance to external factors such as oils, UV radiation and hydrolysis.
Application and compliance with standards
The MEGAFLEX 500 50G1 cable meets stringent European standards (DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11 / DIN EN 50525-3-11) and American standards (UL-Style 20939, UL-Std. 758). It has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the low-voltage directive 2014/35/EU. This ensures its reliability and safety. The cable is resistant to oils, greases, UV radiation and ozone – guaranteeing a long service life even in harsh operating conditions. The minimum bending radius is 10x the cable diameter for flexible applications and 4x the diameter for stationary installations. The cable is available in meters and has a conductor cross-section of 1 mm². Its rated voltage is 500V, and the permissible operating temperature is -40°C to +80°C (stationary) and -30°C to +80°C (flexible).
