This shielded MEGAFLEX 500-C 12G1.5 mm² halogen-free cable is an ideal solution for a wide range of installations where safety, flexibility and protection against electromagnetic interference are crucial. The cable is designed for demanding industrial applications, machine and equipment construction, air conditioning systems, ship structures and renewable energy installations.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction ensuring long-lasting and reliable operation. It is made of multi-strand, flexible copper wire (class 5), insulated with a special halogen-free polymer. Black cores are numbered according to DIN VDE 0293, which facilitates identification during installation. A yellow-green protective core is present from 3 cores, located in the outer layer. The whole is surrounded by a separating foil and a braided screen made of tinned copper wires (85% coverage), which provides effective protection against electromagnetic interference (EMC). This braid should be firmly connected to the terminals (e.g. cable glands) for optimal EMC protection. The outer jacket is made of halogen-free polymer in gray (RAL 7001).

Application and compliance with standards

The MEGAFLEX 500-C cable meets the stringent standards of DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11 / DIN EN 50525-3-11 and UL-Style 20939, UL-Std.758. It is suitable for both fixed laying and flexible connections (with free, unforced movements). Thanks to its properties, such as flame resistance, oil resistance, UV radiation resistance and a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to +80°C), the cable can be used in harsh environmental conditions. It also has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
