This halogen-free MEGAFLEX 500-C 12G2.5 mm² cable is a solid solution for both professional installers and end-users looking for reliable and safe cabling. The cable is designed for use in machine and equipment construction, air conditioning systems, ship structures, and renewable energy sources. Its construction provides flexibility and resistance to harsh environmental conditions.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a multi-strand, flexible copper conductor with a cross-section of 2.5 mm², which facilitates installation and ensures good conductivity. The core insulation is made of a special halogen-free polymer, which increases safety in the event of a fire – it limits the release of toxic gases and smoke (compliant with IEC 60332-1-2, DIN VDE 0482-754-1, DIN EN 60754-1 standards). The cores are black with white numbers for easy identification according to DIN VDE 0293. Additionally, the cable has a yellow-green protective conductor (from 3 cores) placed in the outer layer.

A braided screen made of tinned copper wires (85% coverage) provides effective protection against electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is crucial in sensitive applications. This braid should be connected to the terminals (e.g., cable glands) on both sides for optimal shielding effectiveness. The whole is surrounded by a durable outer layer made of halogen-free polymer in gray color (RAL 7001).

Applications and compliance with standards

The MEGAFLEX 500-C cable is intended for permanent laying as well as for movable connections – provided there are free, unforced movements without mechanical tensile stress. It meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11 / DIN EN 50525-3-11 and UL-Style 20939 / UL-Std.758 standards. It is resistant to oils, UV radiation and has high flame and abrasion resistance. This makes it suitable for a variety of industrial and commercial environments.

Additional tests confirm its properties: resistance to corrosion under the influence of gases resulting from combustion (NF X 10-702), hydrolysis (DIN EN 61234-1) and ozone (DIN VDE 0473-811-403 / DIN EN 60811-403). The cable is also easy to recycle and does not contain substances that interfere with painting.
