This shielded MEGAFLEX 500-C 18G1.5 mm² halogen-free cable is an ideal solution for a wide range of applications, from machine and device construction, through air conditioning systems, to ship structures and renewable energy sources. It not only ensures effective power transmission but also a high level of safety thanks to its fire-resistant properties and low smoke emission in the event of a fire. The construction with 18 cores with a cross-section of 1.5 mm² allows for flexible use in installations requiring a large number of cables.

Construction and properties for professionals

The cable is designed for demanding applications. Made of high-quality materials, it meets the standards of DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11/ DIN EN 50525-3-11 and UL-Style 20939, UL-Std.758. Twisted copper cores according to class 5 (flexible multi-wire) provide good flexibility and resistance to mechanical fatigue. The cores are marked with numbers according to DIN VDE 0293, which facilitates identification during installation. A braided screen made of tinned copper wires (85% coverage) minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is crucial in sensitive applications. The braid provides effective shielding, and its optimal use requires bilateral, extensive contact with the terminals – the use of appropriate cable glands is recommended.

Safety and compliance with standards

The halogen-free outer jacket significantly increases safety, reducing the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire. The cable meets stringent standards for fire resistance (IEC 60332-1-2) and low halogen content (DIN VDE 0482-754-1, DIN EN 60754-1, IEC 60754-1). Additionally, it is resistant to oils, UV radiation and weathering. The cable is designed to operate in a wide temperature range: from -30°C to +80°C flexibly and from -40°C to +80°C with fixed laying. The approximate outer diameter of the cable is 15 mm. The rated voltage U is 500 V.
