This halogen-free MEGAFLEX 500-C control and power cable is designed for demanding industrial applications and installations where safety, durability and resistance to external factors are crucial. This cable combines flexibility, mechanical strength and effective protection against electromagnetic interference. Ideal for both fixed and mobile connections (subject to appropriate operating conditions), it is suitable for machine construction, air conditioning systems, ship structures and renewable energy installations.

Construction and properties

The MEGAFLEX 500-C cable features an advanced construction that ensures high quality and reliability. Made of multi-wire, flexible copper conductor (class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295), insulated with a special halogen-free polymer, it provides safe and long-lasting use. The conductors are numbered digitally (DIN VDE 0293) for easy identification. A braid screen made of tinned copper wires (85% coverage) minimizes electromagnetic interference, which is particularly important in industrial environments. The whole is surrounded by a durable outer jacket made of a special halogen-free polymer in grey (RAL 7001).

The conductor cross-section is 0.75 mm², the rated voltage is 500 V, and the outer diameter is around 6.1 mm. The cable operates in a temperature range from -30°C to +80°C with movement and from -40°C to +80°C with fixed installation. It has two conductors and a copper braid screen.

For optimal electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), it is recommended to ensure a wide, bilateral contact of the copper braid with the terminals – e.g. by using appropriate cable glands.
