This halogen-free control and power cable, designated MEGAFLEX 500-C 3G2,5, is an optimal solution for both professional installers and end-users. It ensures safe and efficient power transmission in a wide range of applications, from the construction of machines and equipment, through air conditioning systems, to ship structures and renewable energy sources. The cable's construction is designed for durability and resistance to external factors.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a conductor cross-section of 2.5 mm², which provides adequate current carrying capacity for many applications. It is made of multi-strand, flexible copper conductor (class 5), which facilitates installation and ensures flexibility in difficult conditions. The conductors are insulated with a special halogen-free polymer, and their black color with white numbers makes identification easier according to DIN VDE 0293. Additionally, the presence of a yellow-green protective conductor (from 3 conductors) increases safety.

The screen in the form of a braid of tinned copper wires (85% coverage) minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is particularly important in industrial environments and applications sensitive to interference. This braid should be connected to the terminals (e.g., cable glands) on both sides for optimal EMC protection. The whole is surrounded by a durable outer jacket made of halogen-free polymer in gray color (RAL 7001).

Application and compliance with standards

The MEGAFLEX 500-C 3G2,5 cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11/ DIN EN 50525-3-11 and UL-Style 20939, UL-Std.758, which guarantees its high quality and safety. It is intended for fixed laying as well as for movable connections (with free, unforced movements). The permissible operating temperature range is from -30°C to +80°C during flexible operation and from -40°C to +80°C during fixed laying. The cable is also resistant to oils, UV radiation and has self-extinguishing and flame-retardant properties in accordance with DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1-2. Additionally, it is non-flammable and emits minimal smoke during combustion in accordance with DIN VDE 0482-754-1. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 9 mm.
