This shielded halogen-free MEGAFLEX 500-C 4G16 mm² cable is an ideal solution for both professional installers and end-users who expect high quality and safety. The cable is designed for use in machine and equipment construction, air conditioning systems, ship structures, and renewable energy sources such as wind turbines. It provides reliable connections in both fixed and moving installations – provided that freedom of movement is maintained without excessive mechanical stress.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction ensuring long-lasting and safe operation. Made of stranded copper conductors (class 5), insulated with a special halogen-free polymer, it offers flexibility and easy installation. Black conductors are numbered according to DIN VDE 0293-334, which simplifies identification. A yellow-green protective conductor (from 3 conductors) is located in the outer layer for additional safety. A braided screen made of tinned copper wires (85% coverage) minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is particularly important in sensitive applications. The braid provides effective shielding, and its optimal use requires extensive contact with the terminals on both sides (e.g., cable glands). The whole is surrounded by a durable outer jacket made of halogen-free polymer in gray color (RAL 7001).

Safety and compliance with standards

Safety is a priority – the cable meets the stringent standards of DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11/ DIN EN 50525-3-11 and UL-Style 20939, UL-Std.758. The materials used in production are halogen-free, which means no release of toxic gases in the event of a fire – in accordance with IEC 60332-1-2 and DIN VDE 0482-754-1, DIN EN 60754-1, IEC 60754-1. Additionally, the cable is resistant to oils, UV radiation, and has self-extinguishing and flame-retardant properties (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1-2). The cable is also resistant to corrosion from combustion gases (NF X 10-702) and to hydrolysis (DIN EN 61234-1) and ozone (DIN VDE 0473-811-403/ DIN EN 60811-403).
