Flexible halogen-free control cable – safety and reliability

This grey, flexible JZ-520 HMH LS0H cable is a solution designed for applications requiring a high level of fire safety, especially in buildings with a large number of people. The cable is designed for control, measurement installations, as well as in machines and air conditioning systems. Its construction minimizes the risk of fire spreading and the release of toxic gases in the event of a fire.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction using high-quality materials. Multi-wire copper conductors provide flexibility and facilitate installation. Insulation made of halogen-free TI7 polymer mixture guarantees safety in case of fire – the absence of toxic gas emission protects both people and sensitive electronics. Additionally, the cable has a green-yellow protective conductor (from 3 conductors upwards), which increases safety. The whole is surrounded by a halogen-free M1 plastic coating in grey color (RAL 7001).

A key feature is the fire reaction class B2ca-s1a, d0, a1 according to EN 50575 standard, which means limited flammability, low smoke emission and no burning droplets. The cable also meets a number of other standards regarding fire resistance, corrosion of combustion gases and smoke emission during combustion. The cable is metered for convenient dispensing of the required length.

Application and benefits

The cable is primarily used in buildings of Hazard to People (ZL) character – office buildings, hospitals, schools, airports or stations – where the highest fire safety standards are required. It will also be useful in industrial installations: machines, conveyor belts or production lines. It can be used in both permanent and flexible installations with medium mechanical load.
