Halogen-free control cable – reliability and safety

This flexible 500V control cable, designated OZ-500 HMH, is a solution designed for demanding industrial applications and building installations. It is characterized by high resistance to fire and oils, making it an ideal choice where safety is a priority. The construction from halogen-free materials minimizes the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire, protecting both people and equipment.

This cable is particularly recommended for use in mechanical engineering, conveyors and technological lines, as well as in construction – in fixed and mobile installations. Its flexibility makes it easy to install and route in tight spaces. This makes it suitable for both dry and humid environments.

Construction and properties

The OZ-500 HMH cable is distinguished by its careful workmanship. It uses stranded copper wire meeting the standards of VDE 0295 cl. 5, BS 6360 cl. 5 and IEC 60228 cl. 5. The cores are insulated with halogen-free mixture TI6 (DIN VDE 0207-363-7 / DIN EN 50363-7), and their black color with white numbers makes identification easier. The protective core (in versions with a yellow-green core) is located in the outer layer of the cable. The whole is surrounded by a halogen-free outer jacket TM7 (DIN VDE 0207-363-8 / DIN EN 50363-8) in gray (RAL 7001).

It is worth noting a number of tests confirming its properties: fire resistance (DIN VDE 0482-332-3-24, BS 4066 part 3, DIN EN 60332-3-24), self-extinguishing (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2), corrosive gases after fire (DIN VDE 0482-754-2) and halogen-free (DIN VDE 0482-754-1). Additionally, the cable is resistant to radiation up to 100 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 100 Mrad).

Key product features

The cable is characterized by a rated voltage of 500V and a core cross-section of 0.75 mm². Its outer diameter is approximately 5.3 mm, and the operating temperature range is from -40°C to +70°C for fixed installations and from -15°C to +70°C for flexible applications. The minimum bending radius is 12.5 x cable diameter for flexible bending and 4 x cable diameter for fixed laying. Core insulation is made of halogen-free mixture TI6, and the outer jacket of halogen-free mixture TM7.

This cable meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). This is a high-quality product that will ensure safe and reliable operation of electrical installations for a long time.
