Control and power cable for demanding applications
This shielded, halogen-free HELUTHERM® 145 MULTI-C control and power cable is a solution designed for safety and reliability in harsh conditions. The cable combines flexibility, resistance to high temperatures, and flame-retardant properties, making it an ideal choice for a variety of industrial and installation applications.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a construction based on five copper conductors with a cross-section of 4 mm², which provide adequate conductivity and flexibility. The conductors are insulated with a special electron-beam crosslinked and halogen-free polyolefin copolymer – this is crucial for safety in the event of a fire, as it limits the emission of toxic gases and smoke. A braid screen made of tinned copper wires effectively minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is important in installations sensitive to noise. The whole is surrounded by a durable outer jacket made of electron-beam crosslinked polyolefin copolymer, providing resistance to abrasion, oils and weathering.
Additionally, this cable is distinguished by a wide range of operating temperatures – from -55°C to +145°C (short-term up to +250°C), which allows it to be used in extreme conditions. The conductors are black with white digital numbering according to DIN VDE 0293-334, which facilitates identification during installation. Thanks to this, the cable will work well in both static and dynamic applications.
Applications and benefits
The HELUTHERM® 145 MULTI-C cable finds application in many areas, including:
- Wiring of lighting fixtures: Safety and resistance to high temperatures are crucial in this type of installation.
- Heating devices: The cable works perfectly in devices generating heat, thanks to its high temperature resistance.
- Electrical machines (thermal class B): Provides reliable power supply and control in machines operating in difficult conditions.
- Distribution boards: Resistance to EMC interference guarantees stable operation of devices connected to the distribution board.
- Machine and installation construction: The versatility of the cable allows its use in various industrial applications.
- Outdoor installations: Resistance to UV radiation, ozone and moisture enables the use of the cable in installations exposed to atmospheric factors.
It is worth remembering the manufacturer's recommendation regarding the optimization of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) by ensuring a wide, bilateral contact of the copper braid with the terminals (e.g. cable glands).
