Halogen-free control cable – safety and reliability

This flexible JZ-520 HMH-C LS0H control cable is a solution for installations requiring a high level of fire safety, especially in public buildings. The cable is designed for applications in places where many people gather, such as office buildings, hospitals, schools, or airports. Its construction minimizes the risk of generating toxic gases and smoke in the event of a fire, protecting both people and sensitive electronic devices.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by a solid construction ensuring long-term and reliable operation. It consists of:

• Multi-strand copper conductors of flexibility class 5, which ensures flexibility and resistance to material fatigue during frequent bending.
• Insulation made of halogen-free TI7 polymer mixture, guaranteeing safety in case of fire and compliance with environmental standards.
• Screening braid made of tinned copper wires with a coverage density of approx. 85%, which effectively suppresses electromagnetic interference (EMC), ensuring stable signal transmission.
• Outer jacket made of halogen-free M1 material, resistant to mechanical damage and weathering.

Additionally, the cable has a yellow-green protective conductor (in JZ versions) for increased safety. The cable is metered, which makes it easier to precisely adjust the length to the needs of the installation.

Application and compliance with standards

The JZ-520 HMH-C LS0H cable is used as a control cable in electrical installations of buildings, as well as in industrial machines and equipment. It will also be useful in air conditioning and ventilation systems and steel mills. The possibility of use in dry, damp and wet rooms increases its versatility.

It meets the requirements of standards:

• DIN VDE 0285-525-3-11 / DIN EN 50525-3-11 and DIN VDE 0285-525-2-51 / DIN EN 50525-2-51 – halogen-free control cable
• EN 50575 – reaction to fire class B2ca-s1a, d0, a1
• It has a CE mark confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.

Thanks to its high CPR class (B2ca), this cable is particularly recommended for installation in buildings with high fire safety requirements. To optimize electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), it is recommended to contact the copper braid with the clamps (e.g. EMC cable glands) on both sides.
