Halogen-free shielded cable – reliable data transmission

This installation cable, designated J-H(St)H 6x2x0.8 mm, is designed with safety and reliability in mind. This cable combines flame-retardant properties with effective shielding, making it an ideal choice for installations in places requiring a high level of protection against electromagnetic interference. This cable is particularly useful in telecommunications installations, both in dry and humid rooms, as well as for surface and concealed wiring.

A key feature of this cable is its construction – 12 conductors arranged in 6 pairs, which ensures high flexibility and ease of installation. The use of halogen-free insulating materials guarantees minimal emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire, increasing the safety of people nearby. Static shielding (St) effectively protects signals from external interference, ensuring stable data transmission.

Construction and properties

The cable is made of single-wire copper conductors, insulated with HI2 halogen-free compound in accordance with DIN VDE 0207 part 23. The conductors are twisted into quads and bundled, then surrounded by a laminated aluminum foil – electrostatic screen. The whole is covered with a flame-retardant outer coating HM2 (DIN VDE 0207 part 24) in gray color. This construction provides high mechanical and chemical resistance of the cable and its long-term reliability.

It is worth noting the wide range of operating temperatures – from -30°C to +70°C (stationary) and from -5°C to +50°C (flexible). Additionally, the cable meets the requirements of IEC 60332-1-2 regarding fire behavior and IEC 60754-2 regarding the emission of corrosive gases. The operating voltage is 300V, making it suitable for low-voltage applications.
