Control and power cable for demanding applications
This flexible rubber cable NSHTÖU 5G4.0 mm² in black is designed for operation in harsh conditions, especially in retractable installations. It is an ideal solution wherever high resistance to mechanical loads and external factors is required. This cable is used in construction, mining, lifting equipment, conveyors and cranes.
Construction and properties
The NSHTÖU cable is characterized by a solid construction ensuring reliability and durability. It has five cores with a cross-section of 4 mm², which allows both powering and controlling devices. The core insulation is made of GI1 rubber, and the outer jacket of polychloroprene (neoprene), which guarantees exceptional resistance to:
- low temperatures (down to -40°C),
- ozone and UV radiation,
- oils, acids, fats and solvents,
- weather conditions – the cable can be used outdoors.
The cores are twisted around a core with a spacer and secured with a textile braid, which increases the tensile strength and prevents the cable from twisting during winding and unwinding. Core identification is carried out in accordance with DIN VDE 0293-308.
Applications and compliance with standards
The NSHTÖU cable is designed to operate in systems requiring frequent winding and unwinding of the cable from a drum. It works perfectly in lifting applications and in devices exposed to dynamic mechanical loads. It can be used both in fixed and flexible installations, in dry, wet and humid rooms and outdoors. It meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0250 part 814 and has a fire reaction class of Eca (EN 13501-6). The rated voltage is 600/1000 V. The cable has passed tests regarding behavior during fire (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2) and oil resistance (DIN VDE 0473-811-404).
