Construction and properties
The JB-500 cable has a construction that ensures long-lasting and safe operation. Copper conductors, made in class 5 (multi-strand flexible), are insulated with special PVC Z 7225, which guarantees good flexibility and abrasion resistance. Colored cores facilitate identification during installation, and a yellow-green protective core (available from 3 cores) provides additional safety. Parallel twisted cores are surrounded by an outer jacket made of special PVC TM2, which increases resistance to mechanical and chemical damage. The cable is metered, making it easy to precisely adjust the length to the installation needs.
The materials used do not contain silicone, cadmium or substances that interfere with painting. The PVC coating is self-extinguishing and flame-retardant, tested in accordance with DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2/ IEC 60332-1 and DIN VDE 0472 part 804 method B – this is an important aspect for installation safety. The cable is resistant to oils and many chemicals.
Technical parameters and application
The JB-500 cable is adapted to operate in a wide temperature range: from -40°C to +80°C in stationary mode and from -15°C to +80°C during dynamic operation. The rated voltage is 500 V, and the test voltage is as high as 4000 V – this ensures safe operation in various applications. The minimum bending radius is 7.5 x cable diameter during dynamic operation and 4 x cable diameter during fixed installation. The cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0285-525-2-11/ DIN EN 50525-2-11.
This cable is used with medium mechanical load in flexible connections without tensile stress. It is ideal for dry, damp and wet rooms (but not outdoors), e.g. in mechanical engineering, metallurgy or air conditioning.
