Flexible cable JB-500 is a reliable solution for electrical connections in demanding conditions. This cable, made of high-quality materials, is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to external factors. Designed for medium mechanical stress, it is ideal for applications requiring flexible connections without tensile stress.

Construction and materials

The JB-500 cable has 14 copper strands, twisted according to DIN VDE 0295 cl. 5, BS 6360 cl. 5 and IEC 60228 cl. 5 standards. Each strand is insulated with special PVC (Z 7225), and the strands are colored according to the JB/OB color code for easy identification. The protective conductor (in the case of configurations with a protective conductor) is located close to the outer jacket for increased safety. The whole is surrounded by a durable outer PVC jacket (TM2), providing resistance to mechanical and chemical damage. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 11.5 mm.

Application and properties

This cable is widely used in the machinery, metallurgy and air conditioning industries. It is perfect for control, signaling and measurement systems, especially with conveyors and technological lines. It can be used in dry, damp and wet rooms – but not outdoors. Thanks to its resistance to oils and chemicals (according to the "Technical Information" table), this cable is suitable for operation in harsh industrial conditions. The materials used in production do not contain silicone, cadmium or substances that interfere with painting. The cable meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0285-525-2-11 / DIN EN 50525-2-11 and has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.

Operating parameters

The JB-500 cable retains its properties over a wide temperature range – from -40°C to +80°C during stationary operation and from -15°C to +80°C during flexible operation. The rated voltage U is 500 V, and the test voltage is 4000 V. The insulation resistance is at least 20 MOhm x km, which guarantees safe and reliable operation of the device. The minimum bending radius for flexible operation is 7.5 x cable diameter, and for fixed installation – 4 x cable diameter. The cable is also resistant to radiation up to 80 x 106 cJ/kg (up to 80 Mrad).
