JB-500 flexible cable is a reliable solution for electrical connections in demanding conditions. Characteristics and application

The JB-500 cable is designed for use in dry, damp and wet rooms – but not outdoors. It finds wide application in the machine industry, metallurgy, air conditioning and in control, signaling and measurement systems. Thanks to its construction with a protective conductor located close to the outer jacket, it provides additional safety. This cable is particularly recommended for connections on conveyors and technological lines. Made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) both as insulation for the cores and as the outer coating, it is characterized by good chemical resistance and oil resistance. In addition, the materials used in production are silicone, cadmium and paint-inhibiting substance-free.

Construction and properties

The cable consists of 18 stranded copper cores with a cross-section of 0.75 mm². These cores are insulated with special PVC Z 7225 and marked with colors according to the JB/OB code for easy identification. A protective conductor (yellow-green) is present in the cable (from 3 cores). The cable construction includes parallel twisted cores and an outer jacket made of special PVC TM2, ensuring durability and resistance to mechanical damage. The outer diameter of the cable is 12.2 mm. The cable meets the DIN VDE 0285-525-2-11/ DIN EN 50525-2-11 standard and has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the low-voltage directive 2014/35/EU. The cable is tested for self-extinguishing and flame retardancy (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2/ IEC 60332-1).

The cable is characterized by a wide range of operating temperatures – flexibly from -15°C to +80°C and stationary from -40°C to +80°C. Its operating voltage is U0/U 300/500 V, and the insulation resistance is minimum 20 MOhm x km. The minimum bending radius is 7.5 x cable diameter for flexible operation and 4 x cable diameter for fixed installation. The cable exhibits resistance to radiation up to 80 x 106 cJ/kg (up to 80 Mrad), and the test voltage is 4000 V with a minimum breakdown voltage of 8000 V.
