Shielded control and signal cable PAAR-TRONIC-CY

This flexible shielded cable, designed for data transmission and control systems, is designed for applications requiring high resistance to electromagnetic interference. The twisted pair construction minimizes interference, and the copper screen provides additional signal protection. The cable complies with DIN VDE 0812 and 0814 standards, guaranteeing its reliability and safety.

The PAAR-TRONIC-CY cable is used in dry, damp and wet rooms - but not in the open air - as a control and signal cable in areas exposed to strong interference. Thanks to the copper screen, which can also function as an earthing conductor, this cable is ideal for installation in industrial and automation environments. Twisted pair cabling ensures optimal signal attenuation.

Construction and parameters

The cable is characterized by a solid construction ensuring long-term and trouble-free operation. It is made of high-quality materials: stranded copper conductors, PVC TI2 insulation and PVC TM2 outer jacket. The conductors are twisted in pairs for better noise reduction. The braided copper screen covers approximately 85% of the surface, providing effective protection against interference. The nominal conductor cross-section is 1 mm², and the number of conductors is 8 (4 pairs). The approximate outer diameter of the cable is 10.9 mm.

The cable maintains flexibility over a wide temperature range – from -5°C to +80°C during installation and from -30°C to +80°C after installation (without vibration). It is radiation resistant up to 80 x 106 cJ/kg (80 Mrad) and oil resistant, making it suitable for use in harsh industrial conditions. The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter during flexible operation and 5 x cable diameter for fixed laying.

Properties and compliance

The PAAR-TRONIC-CY cable meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). The materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium and paint-inhibiting substances. It also has self-extinguishing and flame-retardant properties (tested according to VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1-2). It is available in grey (RAL 7032), and other colors are available on request. The cable is supplied in metered lengths for convenient installation and waste minimization.
