Single-core FEP wire for extreme conditions

This specialized wire with FEP fluoropolymer insulation (HELUFLON®-FEP-6Y) is a solution for demanding applications where standard wires fail. It is characterized by exceptional resistance to high temperatures and aggressive chemical environments. Ideal for both installations in distribution cabinets and in industrial equipment where extreme conditions prevail.

Construction and properties

The wire is made of tinned copper, which ensures good conductivity and corrosion resistance. FEP fluoropolymer insulation guarantees reliable operation over a wide temperature range – from -100°C to +205°C (short-term up to +230°C). The flexible construction with a multi-strand core of class 5 (according to VDE 0295, BS 6360 and IEC 60228) facilitates installation and routing of wires in tight spaces. The minimum bending radius is 10x cable diameter (flexible) or 4x cable diameter (stationary).

Additionally, this wire is distinguished by:

• High radiation resistance – up to 1 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (1 Mrad).
• Low water permeability – approx. 0.18 mg/cm² over 24 hours.
• Resistance to the development of microcultures, fungi and the action of ozone.
• No silicone, cadmium or paint-inhibiting substances.
• Self-extinguishing and flame-retardant construction – tested according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-1.
• Low dielectric losses.
