Universal connection cable for many applications

This single-core PVC cable, designated as H05V2-K 0.5/AWG22, is a versatile solution for internal wiring. It is suitable for both industrial installations and electrical devices. Its construction and approvals make it particularly attractive for installers working in export markets and in the machine tool industry.

Five standards – one cable

The cable is distinguished by its compliance with as many as five standards: DIN VDE 0285-525-2-31, DIN EN 50525-2-31, UL-Std.1063, UL-Style 10269 (also Style 1015) and CSA-TEW and CSA-AWM I A/B. Such a wide range of approvals simplifies inventory management and reduces costs associated with maintaining many different types of cables. This allows one product to be used in various applications and countries.

Flexibility and temperature range

The cable maintains flexibility over a wide temperature range – from +5°C to +90°C during stationary operation and from -40°C to +90°C during dynamic operation. In the case of UL (AWM) and CSA (TEW) approvals, the operating temperature range is even wider – up to +105°C respectively. This ensures reliable operation even in difficult environmental conditions. The multi-strand copper conductor, class 5 (DIN VDE 0295/IEC 60228/UL Std. 758) further increases flexibility and facilitates assembly.

Additional information regarding construction and properties: The conductor cross-section is 0.5 mm², and the outer diameter is 2.5 mm. The operating voltage is 300/500V (up to 1 mm²). The minimum bending radius depends on the cable diameter – for cables with a diameter below 8 mm it is 4x the cable diameter, above 8 mm – 5x or 6x the cable diameter respectively. The insulation is made of special PVC type TI3 (DIN VDE 0207-363-3/DIN EN 50363-3), which provides good electrical insulation and mechanical resistance. The materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium and substances hindering painting. The cable has passed tests for vertical flame propagation (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2/ DIN EN 60332-1- 2/IEC 60332-1-2/ UL VW-1, CSA FT1). Available colors include solid and two-color combinations; this particular model is white-red.
