Universal connection cable – five standards, wide application
This single-core PVC cable, designated as H05V2-K 0.75/AWG20, is a versatile solution for internal wiring. Designed for demanding applications, it meets as many as five different standards – DIN VDE, DIN EN, UL and CSA – making it an ideal choice for both installers working for export and end-users looking for a reliable and universal cable. It will work in machine tools, distribution boards and various electrical devices.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction: a multi-strand copper core of class 5 (DIN VDE 0295/IEC 60228/UL Std. 758) ensures good flexibility and connection durability. The insulation is made of special PVC type TI3 (DIN VDE 0207-363-3/DIN EN 50363-3 and UL-Std. 1581, CSA-C 22.2 No. 210 Tab. 12 Class H), guaranteeing safety and resistance to damage. The white-red color makes it easier to identify the cores in the installation. The cable does not contain silicone, cadmium or substances that hinder painting, which is important in many industrial applications.
Application and compliance with standards
This cable is not only versatile in application, but also has a wide compliance with standards:
- DIN VDE 0285-525-2-31 / DIN EN 50525-2-31: German and European standards for electrical cables.
- UL-Std.1063 / UL-Style 10269 (and Style 1015): American Underwriters Laboratories standards ensuring product safety and quality.
- CSA-TEW / CSA-AWM I A/B: Canadian standards of the Canadian Standards Association confirming compliance with safety requirements.
- Approvals: HAR, UL-AWM, UL-MTW, CSA-AWM, CSA-Equipment-wire – simplify the parts list and allow for economical inventory storage.
The cable is designed to operate in temperatures from +5°C to +90°C (flexible) and from -40°C to +90°C (stationary), and in the case of UL (AWM) approvals even up to +105°C and CSA (TEW) up to +105°C. The test voltage is from 2000V (depending on the cross-section). The minimum bending radius depends on the cable diameter – for cables with a diameter below 8mm it is 4x the cable diameter, above 8mm – respectively 5x or 6x the cable diameter. The cross-section of this particular model is 0.75 mm², and the operating voltage is 300/500V (H05V2-K).
