Universal connection cable for a wide range of applications

This single-core PVC cable, designated FIVENORM H05V2-K, is a versatile solution for internal wiring in electrical devices and distribution boards. Its construction and approvals make it particularly useful in export applications, including machine tools. This cable stands out for its compliance with as many as five standards, which translates into economy and simplified inventory management.

Construction and properties

The cable is designed for reliability and durability. The multi-strand copper conductor, class 5 (DIN VDE 0295/IEC 60228/UL Std. 758), provides good flexibility and resistance to bending. The insulation made of special TI3 PVC (DIN VDE 0207-363-3/DIN EN 50363-3 and UL-Std. 1581, CSA-C 22.2 No. 210 Tab. 12 Class H) guarantees safe use and resistance to external factors. The materials used in production are free of silicone, cadmium and substances hindering painting – this is important for many industrial applications.

The cable is characterized by a wide range of operating temperatures: flexible from +5°C to +90°C, stationary from -40°C to +90°C, and in UL (AWM) standards even up to +105°C (for AWM) and +90°C (for MTW). The operating voltage is 300/500 V (H05V2-K up to 1 mm²) and 450/750 V (H07V2-K ≥ 1.5 mm²), as well as higher values for UL (AWM) and CSA (TEW) standards. The cable has passed voltage tests at a level of 2000 V (and higher for larger cross-sections), which confirms its safety of use. The minimum bending radius is adapted to the cable diameter, ensuring easy installation.

Applications and compliance with standards

This cable finds application in a wide spectrum of electrical devices and internal installations. Its compliance with DIN VDE, DIN EN, UL and CSA standards enables its use in various countries and industries. It has HAR, UL-AWM, UL-MTW, CSA-AWM and CSA-Equipment-wire approvals – which simplifies the certification process of devices in which it is used. Additionally, it meets the requirements of LVD 2014/35/EU marked with the CE symbol. Cables with a cross-section up to 35 mm² have DIN VDE 0285-525-2-31 approval. The cable is available in many colors – both single-color and two-color – which facilitates the identification of conductors during installation. The transparent version is available only for the 05V2-K designation.
