Single-core halogen-free rubber cable – reliability and safety in installations
This specialized rubber cable, manufactured according to DIN VDE 0250 part 606, is designed for demanding applications where resistance to short-circuit loads is crucial. It is ideal for busbar feed systems and power and connection installations, providing high resistance to overloads and short circuits to earth. This cable is intended for use in dry environments.
Construction and properties
The NSHXAFÖ cable stands out with its solid construction, which guarantees long-lasting and reliable operation. The multi-strand, twisted copper conductor (class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295 / IEC 60228) provides good flexibility and ease of installation. The inner insulation made of EPR (ethylene propylene rubber) ensures excellent dielectric properties. The outer jacket made of HM3 polymer is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire – it limits the emission of toxic gases and smoke (compliant with IEC 60332-1-2).
Additionally, the cable is characterized by high resistance to oils and corrosion of fire gases (according to DIN VDE 0482-754-2 / DIN EN 60754-2 / IEC 60754-2). The ability to operate in a wide temperature range – from -40°C to +90°C (stationary) and from -25°C to +70°C (flexible) – makes it a universal solution for various applications. It is important to remember the minimum bending radius: 6x outer diameter for stationary installation and 10x outer diameter for flexible installation.
Applications and benefits
The NSHXAFÖ cable is primarily used in:
- Busbar feed systems: exceptional short-circuit resistance guarantees safety and uninterrupted power supply.
- Power and connection installations: high resistance to overloads and short circuits to earth minimizes the risk of failure.
- Rail vehicles and buses: meets the requirements for fire and mechanical safety.
- Dry rooms: ideal for internal installations where there is no exposure to moisture.
- Connection of mobile devices: thanks to the cable's flexibility, it is possible to connect moving elements.
It is worth noting that this cable is not intended for laying on cable ladders and cable trays. By choosing NSHXAFÖ, you are investing in the safety, reliability and durability of your electrical installation.
