Flexible spiral cable PUR-SPIKA – reliability in motion
This black, three-core spiral cable with a polyurethane (PUR) jacket is the ideal solution wherever high flexibility and resistance to mechanical damage are required. The PUR-SPIKA cable is designed for use in machines, power tools, the construction industry, lifts, entertainment devices, medical equipment and measuring instruments. Its construction allows for free movement and operation in difficult conditions.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by un-tinned copper conductors, meeting the standards DIN VDE 0295 class 5, BS 6360 class 5 and IEC 60228 class 5. The core insulation is made of rubber, and the protective conductor is yellow-green (available from 3 cores). The outer PUR jacket provides high resistance to abrasion, oils and greases. This cable is particularly valued for its ability to stretch – in its unstretched state it has a length of 2000 mm, and after stretching it can reach up to 8000 mm while maintaining an elongation ratio of 1:4. This minimizes the risk of damage during work and transport.
Operating parameters and safety
The PUR-SPIKA cable is designed to operate in a temperature range from -25°C to +70°C. Its rated voltage is 750 V (U) and 450 V (U0), making it suitable for many industrial and commercial applications. The cable has passed voltage tests at a level of 2500 V (H07BQ-F) or 2000 V (H05BQ-F), guaranteeing safe use. It is important to remember about the 200 mm long straight end sections in each case – this is an additional protection against mechanical damage at the connection points.
