Flexible spiral cable PUR-SPIKA – reliability in motion
This black, three-core spiral cable with a polyurethane (PUR) braid is the ideal solution where high flexibility and resistance to mechanical damage are required. The PUR-SPIKA cable is designed for use in machines, power tools, the construction industry and many other demanding environments. Its construction allows for free movement and stretching, making it indispensable in mobile devices and where continuous movements occur.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction: twisted copper cores, rubber insulation and a durable PUR braid ensure long-lasting and safe operation. A yellow-green protective conductor (available from 3 cores) further increases safety. The cable is designed to operate in a temperature range from -25°C to +70°C, allowing it to be used in various environmental conditions. The rated voltage is 750 V, and the test voltage is 2500 V – this ensures adequate insulation and protection against electric shock. An elongation ratio of 1:4 means that the cable can be stretched to a length of 2 meters with an initial spiral length of 500 mm. Important elements are the straight sections at the ends – each 200 mm long – making it easier to connect to devices.
Applications and benefits
The PUR-SPIKA cable finds wide application in:
- Industrial machines and equipment
- Power tools
- Construction industry
- Lifts
- Medical devices
- Measuring instruments
- Revolving doors
- Equipment in the entertainment industry
Its flexibility and resistance to damage make it ideal for dynamic applications where traditional cables could fail. Axial versions and sections with spiral lengths up to 5 meters are also available. The core cross-section is 1 mm², which provides sufficient current capacity for most applications. It is worth remembering that the AWG sizes given are approximate – the exact cross-section is given in mm².
