Flexible spiral cable PUR-SPIKA – reliability in harsh conditions

This black, three-core spiral cable with a polyurethane (PUR) outer jacket is the ideal solution where high flexibility and resistance to mechanical damage are required. The PUR-SPIKA cable is designed for use in machines, power tools, the construction industry, lifts, as well as in medical and entertainment devices. Its construction allows for free routing in tight spaces and dynamic applications.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by high quality workmanship. Copper conductors, meeting the standards DIN VDE 0295 cl.5, BS 6360 cl.5 and IEC 60228 cl.5, ensure good electrical conductivity. The rubber insulation of the cores guarantees safe use, and the yellow-green protective conductor (in 3-core cables) further increases the level of protection. The PUR outer jacket provides resistance to abrasion, oils and greases. The cable is available in a spiral length of 2000 mm before stretching, which gives up to 8000 mm after stretching – these are considerable possibilities for adaptation to specific installation needs. In addition, there is a straight section of 200 mm at each end to facilitate connection.

Parameters and application

The cable is designed to operate in a temperature range from -25°C to +70°C and withstands a rated voltage of up to 750 V (U) and 450/750 V (U0/U). Its elongation ratio is 1:4, which means a great freedom in adjusting the length to a specific application. This makes it suitable for both static and dynamic applications – where the cable must move with the device or structure. The core cross-section of 2.5 mm² is suitable for many devices and electrical installations.
