Connection cable for inverters – reliability and electromagnetic compatibility

This specialized TOPFLEX®-EMV-3-PLUS-2YSLCY-J cable is designed for efficient and safe power supply to motors using frequency converters. Its use in installations guarantees minimization of electromagnetic interference, which is crucial in modern automation and control systems. This cable is ideal for both professional installers and end-users who expect high quality and reliability.

The cable is distinguished by a construction adapted to the specific requirements of working with converters. The use of high-quality materials, such as copper as the conductor material and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as the outer coating, ensures durability and resistance to mechanical damage. The conductors made in class 5 (flexible stranded wire) facilitate assembly and provide flexibility in difficult conditions. The cable is shielded with a braid, which effectively reduces interference emission and ensures electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

Construction and properties

The cable construction has been carefully designed for optimal performance and safety. It consists of three working conductors with a cross-section of 10 mm² and an additional PE conductor divided into three, which provides better electromagnetic compatibility than traditional four-core cables. Thanks to this concentric system, the entire cable is characterized by high resistance to interference. Additionally, the use of a special aluminum tape and a braid of copper wires provides optimal shielding. The cable is transparent with color-coded conductors according to DIN VDE 0293-308, which facilitates identification of individual conductors during installation. The outer diameter of the cable is 17.6 mm.

The cable maintains flexibility over a wide temperature range – from -40°C to +70°C during stationary installation and from +5°C to +70°C during installation. The rated voltage U/U0 is 1000/0.6 kV, and the maximum working voltage is 700/1200 V for single- and three-phase current and 900/1800 V for direct current. The insulation resistance is at least 200 MOhm/km, which guarantees a high level of safety.
