Shielded control and power cable – reliable signal transmission
This flexible Y-CY-JZ 3G0.5 mm² control and power cable is an ideal solution for applications in control engineering, regulation, mechanical engineering, and electronics. It ensures effective transmission of signals and pulses without interference, thanks to its dense copper braid shielding. The cable is made of high-quality materials, guaranteeing its durability and reliability in demanding working conditions.
Construction and properties
The cable features a construction that provides flexibility and mechanical resistance. The multi-strand flexible copper conductors (class 5 according to DIN VDE 0295) are insulated with special PVC Z 7225, and their black numerical markings facilitate identification according to DIN VDE 0293. The yellow-green protective conductor (from 3 conductors) further increases safety. The copper braid shielding minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is crucial in precise control systems. The outer jacket is made of transparent PVC, providing resistance to oils and chemicals.
Parameters and application
The Y-CY-JZ 3G0.5 mm² cable is designed to operate in a wide temperature range: from -40°C to +80°C (fixed installation) and from -15°C to +80°C (flexible). The rated voltage is 300/500 V, and the test voltage is 4000 V. The nominal conductor cross-section is 0.5 mm², and the approximate outer diameter is 7.5 mm. The cable meets the EN 13501-6 standard regarding fire reaction classification (Eca). Due to its properties, it finds application in:
- Control installations in machines and equipment
- Industrial automation systems
- Connections of electronic devices
- Transmission of signals in environments exposed to electromagnetic interference
- Where cable flexibility and mechanical resistance are required
Additionally, the cable complies with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking). To optimize electromagnetic compatibility (EMV), it is recommended to ensure a wide, bilateral contact of the copper braid with the terminals – e.g., using cable glands.
