Flexible, halogen-free and high-temperature resistant cable
This single-core HELUTHERM® 145 cable is designed for safety and reliability in demanding applications. It features high temperature resistance and properties that limit the spread of fire and the emission of toxic gases during a fire. This is an ideal solution for both professionals and end-users who value the safety and durability of electrical installations.
Construction and application
The cable is made of multi-strand copper conductors (class 5), which provides flexibility and ease of installation. The cross-linked polyolefin copolymer insulation guarantees high resistance to mechanical, chemical and thermal damage. This makes the cable widely used in:
- lighting fixture wiring,
- heating devices,
- electrical machines (thermal class B),
- distribution boards,
- construction of machines and concealed, semi-concealed and surface-mounted installations.
It can be used in conduit pipes at alternating voltage up to 1000 V or direct voltage up to 750 V. In rail vehicles, loading with direct voltage up to 900V is permitted.
Safety and properties
The cable meets strict fire safety standards. Its halogen-free construction means that it does not release toxic gases in the event of a fire, significantly increasing the chances of safe evacuation. Additionally:
- it has Germanischer Lloyd approval, confirming its high quality and reliability,
- it is resistant to UV radiation and weather conditions, allowing it to be used both indoors and outdoors,
- it exhibits good resistance to oils and abrasion,
- it is resistant to soldering temperature (up to 380°C) due to the electronic crosslinking of the insulation.
The use of electronic crosslinking also allows for a potential reduction in the cable cross-section while maintaining its operating parameters – this solution can be particularly useful in space-constrained situations. The cable complies with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).
