High-temperature cable for extreme conditions
This exceptional cable, known as HELUTHERM® 400, is designed for operation in environments where standard cables fail. It is characterized by its extraordinary resistance to high temperatures, making it indispensable in demanding industrial and specialized applications. Its construction, based on a nickel-plated core and special insulation, ensures reliability and safety even in the most extreme conditions.
Construction and properties
The HELUTHERM® 400 cable stands out with its unique structure. It consists of a multi-strand nickel core, surrounded by a specially saturated heat-resistant fiberglass fabric. This combination of materials guarantees not only resistance to temperatures up to +400°C (short-term even +450°C), but also excellent chemical and radiation properties. This makes the cable suitable for applications where contact with aggressive substances or radiation occurs. The minimum bending radius is approximately 15 times the cable diameter, making installation easier even in tight spaces.
- Core: Multi-strand, made of nickel – provides flexibility and good conductivity.
- Insulation: Specially saturated heat-resistant fiberglass fabric – guarantees resistance to extreme temperatures and external factors.
- Temperature resistance: Continuous operation up to +400°C, short-term up to +450°C and operation in low temperatures down to -60°C.
- Rated voltage: 500 V – enables safe use in medium-voltage installations.
- Additional properties: Excellent chemical and radiation resistance.
Applications and benefits
The HELUTHERM® 400 cable finds application in a wide range of industries where reliability and safety in extreme conditions are required:
- Aerospace: Due to its high temperature and radiation resistance.
- Nuclear power plants: In places exposed to high temperatures and radiation.
- Chemical industry: In chemically aggressive environments.
- Steelworks and foundries: In metallurgical processes requiring high temperature resistance.
- Metal heat treatment: For connecting devices generating high temperatures.
Thanks to its unique properties, this cable ensures long-term and safe operation of equipment even in the most difficult industrial conditions. Its solid construction minimizes the risk of failure and downtime, which translates into cost savings for maintaining the installation. Additionally, the available option with a Kapton foil increases its dielectric strength and resistance to external factors.
