The 42/15 mm reducing nipple is a key connecting element for pipes of different diameters in stainless steel installation systems. This product enables a smooth transition from a pipe with an outer diameter of 42 mm to a pipe with a diameter of 15 mm, which is essential when splitting circuits or connecting end devices. Thanks to the use of austenitic steel 316 L (1.4404), the fitting exhibits high corrosion resistance, making it suitable not only for water installations but also for aggressive media such as compressed air or process fluids in industry.

Joining technology and leak-tightness safety

Installation of this reducer is based on press-fitting technology, eliminating the need for welding or threading. On one side, the element features a push-in end (for 42 mm pipe), and on the other, a crimping sleeve (for 15 mm pipe). This construction enables fast and repeatable connections that, once pressed, remain durable throughout the entire service life of the installation. A key safety aspect is the use of an ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) rubber seal. This seal ensures the hermetic integrity of the joint and operates over a wide temperature range. Importantly for professionals, this system includes the Controlled Leak-Before-Press (LBP) function. This means that in the event of seal damage or incorrect installation, any potential leak will be visually detected before the press tool is fully activated, allowing for immediate correction without the need to dismantle the entire installation.

Application and installation dimensions

This component is widely used in heating, cooling, solar, domestic water, and industrial water systems. Its versatility stems from the material used and precise geometric dimensions, which facilitate planning of installation space even in tight shafts or above suspended ceilings. The total length of the reducer is 88 mm; considering the working lengths of the connections—11.5 mm for the smaller diameter and 26.5 mm for the larger one—this allows for precise selection of press heads and ensures full compression of the seal. The fitting is designed for pipes with a nominal diameter DN 40 on the larger-diameter side, ensuring compliance with commonly used installation standards.

Due to the elimination of the need for additional accessories such as sealants or PTFE tapes, installation time is significantly reduced. This reducer guarantees an aesthetically pleasing appearance of the finished installation, which is particularly important in commercial and public buildings where pipe elements are often visible outside walls or under glass covers. The steel material also provides mechanical resistance to damage during operation and dimensional stability under temperature variations of the transported medium.
