90° elbow GZ Steel - 35 R1 1/4" 1509070007
Steel threaded elbow for KAN-therm Steel systems
This is a 90° elbow with an external thread, designed for creating connections in heating and cooling installations made using the KAN-therm Steel system. Made of galvanized steel, it ensures durability and corrosion resistance, which is crucial in demanding operating conditions. The elbow is a press-fit element, guaranteeing quick and secure installation.
Design and application
The elbow connects pipes with a diameter of 1 1/4 inch (32 mm) using a clamping sleeve on one side and a BSPT-R (ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1) external thread on the other. This arrangement allows for flexible adaptation to various installation configurations and connection of elements with different types of connections. The galvanized steel from which the elbow is made is characterized by a zinc coating thickness of 8-15 µm, which provides effective corrosion protection. Additional passivation chromium protection increases resistance to mechanical damage.
LBP function and connection safety
A key feature of this elbow is the LBP (Leak Before Press) function, meaning "leak before pressing". This means that an unpressed connection is leak-proof, making it easier to identify errors during pressure testing. In this model, the LBP function is implemented using special grooves in the O-rings (made of EPDM rubber), which allow for the detection of leaks. The use of O-rings also ensures a leak-proof connection after pressing. The "M" type clamping system further increases the durability and reliability of the connection.
Advantages for the installer and end user
- Quick installation: Pressing technology eliminates the need for welding or soldering, reducing installation time.
- High tightness: The LBP function and the use of O-rings guarantee reliable and leak-proof connections.
- Corrosion resistance: Galvanized steel with an additional layer of passivation chromium provides long-term protection against corrosion, even in difficult environmental conditions.
- Safety: No need to use open flame during installation increases work safety.
- Durability: Made of high-quality steel and a solid construction ensure a long service life of the elbow and the entire installation.
- Versatility: The ability to connect with other elements of the KAN-therm Steel system and plastic KAN-therm systems provides great freedom in installation design.
- Quality control: The LBP function allows for easy detection of any errors during installation, which translates into higher quality of the finished installation.
