Protection of Basements Against Flooding and Unpleasant Odors

The "Der Universale" basement floor drain is a solution designed for challenging conditions in underground spaces where the risk of sewage backflow is real. The device combines the function of a standard drain with an advanced flood protection system. Thanks to the use of plastic (polypropylene), the body is resistant to corrosion and chemicals, resulting in a long service life of the installation even in humid environments. A key element of the design is a removable, double-flap check valve that automatically blocks sewage flow in the event of a rise in water level in the main sewer line. For additional safety, a manual emergency shut-off is also provided, allowing full system isolation in critical situations.

Flexible Installation and Practical Operation

Installation of this model is facilitated by a telescopic sleeve, which allows smooth adjustment of the installation height in the range from 25 to 65 mm. This is an important feature for installers working with varying floor thicknesses or finishing layers. The 200x200 mm slotted grate made of plastic not only aesthetically complements modern interiors (available in black) but also meets the requirements of load class K3 (up to 300 kg), making it safe for pedestrian traffic. Inside the body, there is a sediment trap and a siphon with a water seal height of 60 mm, which effectively prevents unpleasant odors from entering the room.

Connection Options and System Performance

The device features a drainage capacity of 1.8 l/s at a nominal diameter of DN 100, corresponding to an external diameter of the drainage pipe of 100 mm. The discharge direction is horizontal, and the connection is made in the form of a push-fit end, facilitating quick installation of sewer pipes without the need for additional seals or adhesives. The floor drain has three inlets: one main inlet with a nominal diameter of DN 70 (external diameter 70 mm) and two additional openings, which can be used as auxiliary connections or left plugged depending on project requirements. All push-fit connections ensure tightness and durability of sewer circuits.

In accordance with standard PN EN 13564 Type 5, the product is intended for the discharge of sewage without feces from basements and other utility rooms. Thanks to the built-in sediment trap, solid deposits can be easily removed, reducing the frequency of cleaning the entire sewer installation. The unit is ready for installation immediately upon delivery, shortening construction time and minimizing the risk of errors during on-site assembly.
