Precise lighting control from two points

The Simon54 series stair switch is an electrical installation accessory designed for flush-mounted installation, allowing the same lighting circuit to be switched on and off from two different locations – typically at the beginning and end of a staircase, hallway, or any passageway. Thanks to the bistable connection system, the mechanism retains its on/off state regardless of the rocker switch position, allowing the user to freely control the light without having to return to the starting point.

The product operates at a rated voltage of 250 V and a switching current of up to 10 AX for fluorescent lamps, making it compatible with both standard bulbs and inductive loads – halogen lamps or compact fluorescent lamps. The design, based on quick-connect, self-tightening plug-in terminals, eliminates the need for soldering or tightening screw terminals, speeding up installation even in conditions with limited access to the inside of the junction box.

Compact design and easy installation

The Simon54 stair switch mechanism is distinguished by its small dimensions – the installation depth is only 28 mm, leaving more working space inside a standard installation box. The mounting bridge is equipped with leveling supports, allowing for precise alignment of the device before mounting. Additional base protrusions help maintain correct vertical or horizontal alignment in multiple units – for example, when installing several modules side by side.

An important feature is the ability to mount the bridge directly to working surfaces (e.g., wood) using dedicated holes, which is useful for non-standard installations or upgrades of older installations. The non-falling terminal screws do not get lost during installation work – a small detail that you will appreciate on the construction site.

Durability and safety

The housing is made of PC – polycarbonate – which is halogen-free, so it does not release toxic halogen-substituted gases in the event of a fire. The advanced material formula with refining and antistatic additives prevents dust accumulation and maintains the intensity of the cream color for many years of use. The surface is glossy and easy to keep clean.

The manufacturer has also taken care of electrical safety aspects – the current rail cover minimizes the risk of electric shock even with the socket cover removed. In the event of expanding the installation with a higher degree of protection, the Simon54 frames are factory-prepared for the IP44 version – simply purchase a frame seal.

The "stairs" symbol placed on the rocker switch clearly identifies the product's function for the end user and facilitates the work of electricians during project documentation.
