Measurement range and True RMS technology

The KEW2046R clamp meter enables measurement of AC/DC current up to 600A and AC/DC voltage up to 600V without the need to break the circuit - simply clamp the jaws around the conductor. True RMS technology guarantees reliable results even with distorted waveforms (harmonics, PWM signals), which is crucial when diagnosing motor drives, UPS power supplies, or speed control installations.

The device offers a full range of basic measurements:

• DC current - accuracy ±(1.5%+5 digits), resolution 0.1A,
• AC current True RMS - bandwidth 40Hz÷1kHz (accuracy depends on frequency: for 50/60Hz it is ±(2%+5 digits), at higher frequencies the tolerance increases),
• DC voltage - resolution from 0.1mV in the lowest range,
• AC voltage True RMS - resolution from 0.001V,
• resistance - range up to 60MΩ,
• capacitance - from nanofarads to microfarads,
• temperature - from -50°C to 700°C (with a K-type probe included),
• frequency - up to 10kHz,
• Duty Cycle - 0.1÷99.9%,
• continuity with audible signal at R<100Ω,
• diode test.

The maximum diameter of the conductor to be measured is 33mm, and the 6000 count resolution LCD display is supplemented by an analog bar graph that facilitates reading change trends.

Functions supporting measurements and detection

The KEW2046R is equipped with a range of functions to facilitate field work:

• Auto Range - the device automatically selects the optimal measurement range,
• HOLD - freezes the current result on the display,
• PEAK HOLD - records and displays the peak value,
• ZERO/DELTA - differential mode allowing comparison of the current measurement with a previously stored current, voltage, or resistance value,
• MAX/MIN - records maximum and minimum values during a measurement session,
• Hz/DUTY - one-button switching between frequency measurement and duty cycle,
• NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) - non-contact electric field detection allowing for a quick check of voltage presence in conductors without the need for contact measurement.

The backlit display ensures readability of results in poorly lit areas (control cabinets, technical corridors). After 15 minutes of inactivity, the meter turns off automatically.
