This LEDVANCE SMART+ wireless motion sensor is designed to monitor outdoor spaces such as gardens, balconies, or driveways. It utilizes Wi-Fi technology and an integrated solar panel, providing independence from traditional power sources and ease of use. The sensor is ideal for smart home systems, enabling lighting automation and notifications of detected motion.

Functionality and application

The PIR (passive infrared) sensor reacts to motion within a range of up to 9 meters, and its operation can be adjusted to lighting conditions thanks to three operating modes: day, night, and all-day. The integrated light sensor allows automatic lighting activation after dark or on cloudy days. Thanks to compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, integration with an existing smart home system is simple and intuitive. The ability to monitor motion detection history and check battery level via the LEDVANCE SMART+ app provides full control over the system's security and functionality.

Construction and mounting

The sensor is designed for durability and weather resistance – it has an IP65 protection rating, which means protection against water jets. The kit includes two mounting brackets, allowing flexible mounting on walls, corners, edges, or with cable ties. The integrated battery is charged with solar energy or via a USB-C port (cable included), ensuring long operating time – up to 12 months with 10 detections per day. The battery ensures reliable operation even during periods of limited access to sunlight.
