Overcurrent circuit breaker BKJ63Nd is a safety element protecting electrical installations against overloads and short circuits. The 3P model with a rated current of 16A and B characteristic is perfect for both home and commercial installations. It replaced the BKN series, offering improved technical parameters, especially the use of a separate terminal for the conductor and the busbar – which facilitates installation and ensures a secure connection.

Characteristics and application

BKJ63Nd series circuit breakers are designed to protect electrical circuits with a rated voltage of 230/400V (AC) and 500V (insulation). The B characteristic means that the circuit breaker reacts quickly to current increase, which is important when protecting circuits with receivers with high starting current, e.g. motors. The short-circuit breaking capacity at 6kA guarantees effective disconnection of the circuit in the event of a serious failure. This minimizes the risk of damage to equipment and fire.

Construction and installation

The BKJ63Nd circuit breaker is mounted on a standard 35mm DIN rail. It has three poles (3P), which means it protects all three phases in a three-phase installation. Connection of wires is done with screws, ensuring a solid and durable connection. The compact dimensions of the device make it easy to install even in tight switchboards. BKJ63Nd circuit breakers are characterized by a high mechanical life (20,000 cycles) and electrical life (10,000 cycles), ensuring reliable operation for a long time.

Standards and additional parameters

The device meets the requirements of IEC 60898-1 and IEC 60947-2 standards, confirming its safety and compliance with European standards. The operating temperature of the circuit breaker ranges from -25°C to +60°C, allowing it to be used in various environmental conditions. The rated impulse voltage is 4kV, and the insulation voltage – 500V. Conductors with a cross-section of up to 25mm² can be connected to the circuit breaker without any problems.
