Overcurrent circuit breaker BKJ63Nd is an element used to protect electrical installations from the effects of overloads and short circuits. Model BKJ63Nd 4P B16, with a rated current of 16A and B characteristic, is a universal solution for both home and industrial installations. It replaced the BKN series, offering improved technical parameters, in particular the use of a separate terminal for the wire and the busbar – which facilitates installation and ensures a secure connection.
Protection and application
Circuit breakers from the BKJ63Nd series are designed to protect circuits in residential buildings and in industry. Their main task is to ensure safety by quickly disconnecting the power supply in the event of a dangerous condition – overload or short circuit. This minimizes the risk of damage to equipment and the occurrence of fire. A wide range of rated currents (up to 63A) and the availability of B, C and D characteristics make it possible to select a circuit breaker perfectly matched to the specifics of the protected circuit. A short-circuit current value of 6kA guarantees effective protection even in the event of large voltage surges.
Characteristics and construction
Characteristic B means that the circuit breaker reacts quickly to an increase in current, but tolerates short-term load surges – which is particularly important when connecting devices with electric motors (e.g. refrigerators, washing machines). The construction based on a 35mm DIN rail ensures easy mounting and dismantling of the circuit breaker. The BKJ63Nd circuit breaker is characterized by high reliability confirmed by certificates of compliance with IEC 60898-1 and IEC 60947-2 standards. The housing with a degree of protection IP20 provides protection against accidental contact.
It is also worth mentioning the wide operating temperature range (from -5°C to +40°C), which allows the use of circuit breakers in various environmental conditions. The use of high-quality materials guarantees a long electrical life (10,000 cycles) and mechanical life (20,000 cycles). The possibility of connecting wires with a cross-section of up to 25mm² provides flexibility when choosing appropriate power cables.
