Overcurrent circuit breaker, 6kA BKJ63Nd series 3P 40A characteristic C BKJ63Nd 3P C40 BKJ63ND 3P C40
Overcurrent circuit breaker BKJ63Nd 3P 40A is a reliable safety element for electrical installations, designed for both domestic and industrial applications. The device effectively protects circuits against the effects of overloads and short circuits, ensuring safe operation and longer life of connected devices. This model, succeeding the BKN series, features improved technical parameters and a new solution in the form of separate terminals for wires and busbars – which simplifies installation and ensures secure connections.
Functionality and application
The BKJ63Nd circuit breaker with C characteristic is particularly recommended for protecting circuits with receivers with high inrush current, such as electric motors or transformers. The C characteristic allows for short-term overloads without unnecessary tripping of the circuit, which is crucial for devices requiring a momentary increase in power consumption during start-up. A wide range of currents up to 63A and availability in configurations from 1P to 4P make the BKJ63Nd series a universal solution for various needs. Mounting on a standard 35mm DIN rail ensures easy integration with existing installations.
Construction and parameters
The circuit breaker is designed in accordance with IEC 60898-1 and IEC 60947-2 standards, which guarantees its high quality and reliability. It has impulse voltage resistance of 4kV and provides IP20 protection. The materials used ensure long-term operation at temperatures from -5°C to +40°C. The circuit breaker offers high mechanical endurance (20,000 cycles) and electrical endurance (10,000 cycles), which translates into a long service life. The possibility of connecting wires with a cross-section of up to 25mm² provides flexibility in choosing the appropriate cables.
The rated current is 40A, making it an optimal choice for protecting typical circuits in residential and industrial buildings. The C tripping characteristic provides protection against overloads and short circuits, allowing for short inrush current peaks. The rated voltage depends on the number of poles: 240/415VAC for the 1P version, 240VAC for 1P+N and 415VAC for the 2-4P versions. The short-circuit breaking capacity is as high as 6kA at rated voltage, guaranteeing effective disconnection of the circuit in the event of a short circuit. Mounting is done on a standard 35mm DIN rail, which facilitates installation and replacement of circuit breakers. Protection class IP20 provides protection against finger contact and against the ingress of solid objects with a diameter greater than 12.5 mm.
