Problem with starting drilling in hard materials
Starting drilling in concrete, brick, or ceramic tiles is a common issue — diamond drill bit segments deflect, cause vibrations, and damage the surface. In finished interiors, this is unacceptable: hole edges become uneven, tiles crack, and work becomes imprecise and exhausting.
How the RS/RM-TX 42/52 centering guide works
This solution is simple yet highly effective:
- First, drill a small pilot hole (14 mm diameter) using a tungsten carbide drill bit.
- Mount the centering guide onto this hole — its guiding pin fits precisely into the drilled hole.
- Then, in non-impact mode, drill to a depth of 4–8 mm using the centering guide — this is sufficient for it to establish a stable base.
- After this step, you can continue with normal drilling — without deflection, vibration, or surface damage.
The hole edge remains smooth, clean, and perpendicular, even when drilling through ceramic tiles. No chipping or surface spreading occurs.
For whom and for what
This tool is designed exclusively for use with RS/RM-TX series diamond drill bits of 42–52 mm diameter. It is not compatible with other types of drill bits or different diameters.
It is the ideal solution for installers working in existing interiors, where precision is critical. No costly repairs are needed after “starting mistakes.” No need to cover imperfections with spackle or wallpaper.
This is not a “magic box” — it is a precision-assisting tool. It works only if used according to instructions: first the 14 mm pilot hole, then 4–8 mm using the centering guide in non-impact mode, followed by normal drilling.
The value of this tool does not lie in its construction — it lies in its ability to prevent errors at the start.
