Heat pump cooling module – an effective solution for thermal comfort
HPAC 40 is an active cooling module, designed to work with NIBE F1145/F1245/F1145 PC/F1245 PC/F1155/F1255 geothermal heat pumps. Controlled by the heat pump, it enables efficient heating, as well as passive and active cooling. This module is particularly recommended for systems with fan coil units, air heaters or air coolers in ventilation units.
Two cooling modes – passive and active
HPAC 40 offers two cooling modes, adapted to different needs and conditions. In passive mode, the lower source system connects to the upper source, requiring both systems to be filled with the same antifreeze agent. Only the lower source circulation pump operates, providing energy-saving cooling. In active mode, the heat pump compressor is activated, cooling the agent circulating in the fan coil units, and the generated heat is dissipated to the ground collector. This solution allows achieving up to 50% higher efficiency compared to traditional air conditioning systems.

Using the HPAC 40 module allows reducing the costs of both installation and operation of the air conditioning system. Thanks to the possibility of heating and cooling within a single two-pipe fan coil unit system, we save time and money. The system is maintenance-free and very energy-efficient thanks to the use of a heat pump. In addition, HPAC 40 enables cooperation with various devices – from fan coil units to air coolers in ventilation units.
Construction and installation
The HPAC 40 module is equipped with a number of elements facilitating installation: wall bracket, mounting screws, protective plate and heat pipe paste. All pipe connections are located at the top and bottom of the module, making it easier to integrate with the existing installation. It is important to install shut-off valves as close as possible to the module and a solid particle filter (supplied with the pump) to ensure its protection. During installation, remember to comply with applicable standards and directives regarding piping installations.
