Universal motor protection module – comprehensive protection for your installation

This advanced UBZ-302M module is designed for continuous monitoring and protection of three-phase asynchronous motors. The device checks key motor operating parameters, such as network voltage, phase and line currents, power consumption, and also monitors the insulation condition and potential leakage currents to ground. This comprehensive approach minimizes the risk of failure, reduces operating costs, and optimizes energy consumption.

Functionality and application

UBZ-302M is a universal solution, finding application in a wide spectrum of installations – from building engineering systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) to advanced industrial automation systems. The module protects motors with a power of 2.5 kW to 315 kW (using external current transformers), ensuring reliable operation in various conditions. Thanks to the ability to monitor motor winding temperature using sensors, UBZ-302M effectively prevents overheating and damage.

Advanced protections and additional functions

The module offers a complete set of protections, including protection against:

• incorrect mains voltage (voltage surges, phase failure, incorrect phase sequence);
• mechanical overload;
• prolonged start-up and rotor lock;
• differential currents leaking to ground;
• low insulation resistance;
• winding overheating.

Additionally, UBZ-302M has a second relay output for control, which enables the organization of additional operating modes – for example, star-delta switching or delayed start-up (cascaded start-up). Communication is via a USB interface – a novelty compared to the previous version of UBZ-302 (using RS-232).

Mounting and parameterization

The module is mounted on a standard 35 mm DIN rail and is characterized by compact dimensions (9 S-type modules). The device parameterization is intuitive and can be performed using buttons on the front panel or via a USB interface with a computer. This allows installers to easily adapt the settings to the specific requirements of a given application. This ensures flexibility and precision in protecting motors of different power and characteristics.

UBZ-302M meets the requirements of IEC 60947-1, IEC 60947-6-2, CISPR 11 and IEC 61000-4-2 standards, which confirms its high quality and safety of use.
