The UBZ-304 universal motor protection module is an advanced device designed to protect asynchronous motors with a power range of 2.5 kW to 315 kW. The module works with standard external current transformers with an output current of 5 A, providing flexibility in component selection and easy integration with existing systems. The device works perfectly in networks with both isolated and grounded neutral points, offering versatility of application. Panel (cabinet) mounting facilitates installation and provides convenient access to the device.

Monitoring and protection – the key to reliability

UBZ-304 provides continuous monitoring of key motor operating parameters, such as network voltage and phase current values. Monitoring the insulation resistance of the electric motor further increases the level of safety and allows for early detection of potential problems. This makes it possible to prevent failures and minimize downtime in production. The device protects against a number of irregularities, including:

• incorrect network voltage (voltage surges, phase failure, incorrect phase sequence);
• mechanical overloads;
• exceeding the reverse current threshold;
• phase current asymmetry;
• lack of torque on the motor shaft (dry running);
• exceeding the minimum starting or operating current;
• prolonged start-up or rotor lock-up;
• low insulation level between the stator and the motor housing;
• leakage current to ground;
• overheating of the windings.

Functionality and versatility for professionals

UBZ-304 not only protects the motor from damage, but also offers advanced control functions. The device allows you to control motors using analog inputs and RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces, enabling integration with automation systems and remote monitoring of operating parameters. Additionally, UBZ-304 signals a failure of the external contactor starting the motor in the event of irregularities detected in the control circuit. Each type of protection has the possibility of allowing or prohibiting automatic reconnection of the load (APR). This gives the installer full control over the system operation and allows them to adapt it to the specific requirements of the application. The device meets safety standards and has a protection degree of IP10 for the terminal block and IP64 for the front panel.
