Surge protection in electrical installations
The V50-1+NPE-280 surge arrester is an advanced Class 1+2 device designed to protect electrical installations from the effects of atmospheric and switching surges. Its construction based on hybrid technology combines the advantages of Type B and C arresters, providing comprehensive protection for both residential and commercial buildings. The device is designed for mounting on a TH-35 mm DIN rail and is characterized by its compact dimensions – it occupies only 2 modules.
Functionality and application
This arrester effectively equalizes potentials in lightning protection systems, in accordance with VDE 0185-305 (IEC 62305) standard. The ability to discharge surge currents at a level of 12.5 kA (10/350 µs) per pole guarantees protection against sudden voltage spikes that can damage sensitive electronic devices. It is compatible with various network configurations: TN, TN-S, TN-C-S and TT. This makes it a universal solution for a wide range of installations. Additionally, optical indication of operation facilitates quick identification of a faulty arrester and the need for its replacement.
Safety and reliability
The arrester's design is focused on user safety. The housing made of self-extinguishing plastic (UL 94 V-0) minimizes the risk of fire spreading in the event of a failure. Mechanical protection of the inserts protects against the effects of vibration, and voltage coding prevents incorrect installation. The maximum wire cross-section of 35 mm² allows connection of wires of different thicknesses, which facilitates integration with the existing electrical installation. A 160A GL/gG protection eliminates the need for additional fuses in many cases.
