EX plug devices, explosion‑proof current‑carrying part – plug – 230 V, 32 A, 3P 2538015
Explosion‑proof high‑strength plug
The plug is designed for use in explosion‑hazardous zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 with type ED protection, which prevents the explosion from propagating outside the enclosure. The housing is made of polyamide, providing a very compact, lightweight yet robust construction. An IK08 rating confirms its impact resistance – it will not be damaged by accidental bumps or mechanical loads during installation or operation.
Contacts made of silver with a front pressure clamp ensure stable and low contact resistance, even at high currents – 32 A at 230 V. This is crucial for high‑power devices where minimizing connection heating is important. The contact material is CuZn – copper‑zinc alloy – offering good conductivity and corrosion resistance in industrial conditions.
Screw clamps allow safe and durable wire connections without the need for special tools. The cable entry direction through the gland eases installation in confined spaces. The plug is blue (RAL 5017), complying with standard EN 60309‑2 (60309-2) for 230 V – making it easy to identify and avoid wiring errors.
IP44 protection rating provides resistance to water splashing from any direction and to solid objects larger than 1 mm – ideal for humid, dusty, or lightly contaminated environments. The protective contact position indicator at 6 o’clock guarantees correct phase orientation during connection – eliminating the risk of phase reversal.
There is no phase reverser – meaning it cannot be connected backwards. The design is unidirectional, further increasing installation safety.
All of this – from the housing material to the contact clamping method – has been engineered to operate reliably where standard devices cannot withstand either the physical conditions or the explosion risk.
