Safety in Explosive Hazard Zones
This fixed socket with a rated current of 63 A and voltage of 400 V has been designed for demanding industrial environments where explosion risk is real. The device complies with rigorous standards for explosive hazard zones of class IIA, covering zones 1, 2, 21, and 22. Thanks to the use of flameproof protection type ED (increased safety), it ensures reliable operation in locations where standard electrical solutions cannot be applied. The red housing color, in accordance with EN 60309-2, clearly identifies the voltage of 400 V (50+60 Hz), which is crucial for safety when personnel connect equipment.
Construction and Resistance to External Conditions
The housing made of polyamide features a very compact design, facilitating installation in confined spaces while ensuring high mechanical strength. The IP67 protection rating guarantees dust tightness and effective protection against immersion in water, making this device ideal for outdoor applications or production halls with harsh environmental conditions. An additional advantage is impact resistance of class IK08 – the housing can withstand even mechanical loads typical of heavy industry. Inside, there are silver contacts with front pressure, ensuring stable electrical contact and minimizing the risk of overheating of connections under high operating currents.
Application and Key Mounting Features
The device type "current-carrying part" (socket) has 5 poles and is equipped with a protective contact with a position indicator set to the 6 o'clock position. The cable entry direction is straight, facilitating cable routing planning during surface mounting. The mechanical locking mechanism prevents accidental disconnection of the plug under voltage, increasing operational safety. The contact material is brass (CuZn), and their surface is either nickel-plated or left in the raw state (depending on the specific production version), which affects connection durability and corrosion resistance.
Technical parameters of the device include a rated current of 63 A at a voltage of 400 V (50+60 Hz) and a 5P configuration. The polyamide housing achieves an IP67 protection rating and IK08 impact resistance class, confirming its suitability for explosive hazard zones of class IIA (covering zones 1, 2, 21, and 22). The device is distinguished by its red identification color and a protective contact position indicator set to 6 o'clock.
Thanks to the combination of high-grade insulation, solid polyamide construction, and precisely manufactured silver contacts, this solution proves effective where continuous power supply is required while maintaining the highest anti-explosion safety standards. Mounting is performed via screw terminals, allowing for quick and secure connection of conductors with appropriate cross-sections for currents up to 63 A.
